Lookout

This photo is one of my favorite examples of how sometimes when our plans don’t go as planned - the outcome is far better! The fire lookout in this frame is where myself and a few friends had planned on backpacking to and camping at for the night. We had tried to ensure our chances of getting there first that day, but when we got to the trailhead - it was clear that it wasn’t going to be likely. Instead, we made camp in the valley below the lookout and then hiked up a peak opposite from our planned destination. This gave us a far better view with the lookout in the foreground, just-in-time for sunset.
